Sustainably & Ethically Sourced Materials
Repurposed Gemstones, Pearls & Coral - The only truly ethical and sustainable option
Gemstones
Buying conventionally sourced gemstones means supporting an industry that completely destroys ecosystem and exploits people to the point of slavery.
That is why all of our gemstones have been extracted and repurposed from pre-loved jewelry.
It is not only the most sustainable option by far, but also one that honours the treasures already gifted to us by mother earth.
By using and re-using what is already in circulation we are moving towards a truly circular economy.
It also means that we are drastically minimising carbon emissions, and are able to bypass the negative environmental and social issues associated with the gemstone industry.
Pearls
Pearls are often believed to be inherently eco-friendly due to their association with clean water and thriving ecosystems, the reality of pearl farming's ecological impact, is a different one.
Supporting the conventional pearl industry means endorsing practices that harm ecosystems, exploit workers, and disrupt delicate marine environments.
That's why every pearl we use has been carefully sourced and repurposed from pre-loved jewelry.
Not only is this the most sustainable choice, but it also pays homage to the natural treasures bestowed upon us by the oceans and its creatures.
By embracing existing resources, we're actively contributing to a circular economy.
If our practice is something that resonates with you and you’d like to contribute with your pre-loved jewelry, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us anytime.
Sustainable, recycled and ethically sourced gold-filled metal
Ethical sourcing is a key part of our jewelry making process. Beautiful jewelry should not only look good but also have a clean and transparent backstory. When it comes to metals, there are two sustainable options: Ethical/fair-mined and recycled.
Recycled precious metals have a much lower carbon footprint and a much lower impact on the environment.
Currently the vast majority of our gold is recycled.
The remaining, much smaller percentage consists of ethically sourced metals.
Conventionally mined precious metals is something we never even considered using. It exploits miners and is a toxic process that poisons people and destroys entire ecosystems due to the chemicals used (like mercury).
Ethically mined gold on the other hand empowers responsible artisanal and small-scale mining organizations, and has a positive social and environmental impact.
Because the demand for precious metals only keeps on growing, it will always be worth somebody's effort to dig it out of the ground.
Buying ethically mined metals has the power to transform the mining and jewelry industry in a way that improves the lives of the people involved and protects the environment.
All our gold jewelry is made using hypoallergen 14k gold filled metal, which is a lot better for the environment and for you than gold plated and still costs only a fraction of solid gold. Read more about our gold filled metal here
Our supplier is a member of the sustainable jewelry council and has been accredited with both the RJC Code of Practices Standard (COP): ethical, social, human rights & environmental practices, aswell as the RJC Chain of Custody Standard (CoC): fully traceable & responsibly sourced practices

Sustainable Packaging, Down To The Details
Consistent with our values we spared no effort to make our packaging as eco-friendly as possible.
And we are continuously working on improving our packaging, making it even more sustainable.
We are super excited to announce that we have found jewelry boxes where the soft inlay is made from Tall oil – a by-product extracted from trees from paper production, instead of typical plastic-foam inserts made from crude oil.
Mailer bags: 100% compostable in your own backyard compost.
Cardboard boxes: 60% recycled, FSC accredited, 100% recyclable or compostable.
Cards & paper-wrapping: 100% recyclable
Wax-seal: made from beeswax and natural resin.
