Our jewelry is not gold plated.
It is much higher quality, suitable for sensitive skin, long lasting and waterproof.
Gold plated jewelry only has a few gold-atoms deposited on the surface. If you take 1mm and split it 1000 times, that's one micron. Vermeill jewelry has a 2,5 to 5 microns thin layer. Normal gold plated jewelry has even less (0,25 - 0,5 microns)
Our jewelry on the other hand contains a substantial amount of gold. By legal standards, the gold layer must make up at least 5% or 1/20 of the total weight (also called: "gold filled"). That means there is over 100 times more gold than in gold plated or vermeil jewelry.
This not only ensures longevity but also makes our jewelry hypoallergenic, - a safer choice for those with sensitive skin.
Gold fill is also a more environmentally friendly option compared to gold plated or gold vermeil, since it is made without the use of chemicals and also lasts much longer and can be recycled infinitely.
